There are so many options out there when you're looking at hair accessories for your big day. From veils, to headbands to hair pins, they're all beautiful in their own way, but they won't all work on your wedding day. We give you the top tips to help you decide which one is best for you!
- The first thing to think about is your personal style as a bride. If you're more traditional, then a veil might be the piece for you. If you're very chilled and opting for a boho beach wedding, then loose curls pinned backed with a hair pin would suit your style perfectly. And if you're wanting a glamorous, formal event, then a swept back bun with a blingy halo will do the trick!
- The second thing to consider is your wedding dress. If you've chosen a fully beaded, very detailed wedding dress, then a glitzy and ornate hair piece might be too much. With a busy dress, go for a more simplistic and minimal hair accessory, like a small hair pin or a plain veil (we suggest the Saleh pin, seen below). If your dress is simple and straightforward, then a jeweled headband will add the perfect balance between basic and complicated (something like the Faith headband, seen below).
3. The right color. Hair pieces (like ours!) are often available in a variety of colors: gold, silver, rose gold, champagne and more! If one of these colors falls within your wedding color palette, then it's often a great choice to go for. You hair piece will tie in with the colors popping up at the wedding and create a great synchronized effect. If your dress is champagne or ivory, this could also affect the color you choose. These dresses usually go best with gold or rose gold, so take that into consideration too! Unless you're purposely mixing colors, then also be aware of matching your wedding jewelry to your hair accessories.
4. Your hairstyle. It's best to decide on a wedding hairstyle first, and then choose the right accessory to compliment the style. If you've got your heart set on wearing a certain accessory (like a halo comb for example), then consult your hair stylist about the best way to show this hair accessory off. You don't want to spend money on a beautiful hair piece, only to have it half covered or hidden by your hair.
Keep all these little hints in mind, and picking the right hair accessory will be a breeze!
